Before being a Soumer in one of the fastest-growing and most promising start-ups in the MENA region, I noticed how meticulous Soum’s recruitment process is and how they care about nurturing talents. That was one of the motives that drove me to be part of the family because I knew that I would be working alongside extraordinary colleagues. During my first couple of days, I realized how superb the culture was and how amazing the built-in vibes were at Soum; it is truly like no other. I was amazed by the experience, autonomy, and exposure the team had within such are relatively short timeframe at Soum. One of the “wow” moments that I valued and found fascinating was the top management feedback to the team that presented their progress and findings during our weekly update practice. Seriously, just being present during the weekly update while actively listening to the top management feedback, deep and thoughtful questions asked, points of concern raised, and the amount of thinking and structuring put behind each comment was astonishing. No wonder how Soum is growing and improving exponentially, and there is no doubt that it is heading toward great success in the future. While being a Soumer, you could expect to face many challenges, but you would also expect to develop and grow simultaneously. Working in an environment like Soum that is innovative, agile, and engaging would equip you with diverse and unique soft and technical skills.
You will know you are in the right place once you recognize that you are looking up to the people surrounding you.
Apart from action, crime, and thriller movies or even sitcom series. One of the movies I have seen recently and truly liked and cherished was Soul by Pixar Animation Studios – Walt Disney Pictures. It is not just yet another animation movie; it is a lot deeper than what you would expect when it comes to animation movies. Soul primarily focuses on enjoying the simpler things in life. It showcases how we are always preoccupied with the difficulties of life while most of the time being busy pursuing goals and achievements while forgetting to live and enjoy the simple things in our day – your usual cup of coffee, the beauty of nature, etc. It reminds us to focus on making time for ourselves and doing things that make us happy. The movie also has different layers to it. However, I will leave that for you to watch and figure out, and we shall discuss it over lunch sometime.
